LA Clipper ticket preview

2014-15 Los Angeles Clippers preview

For the Los Angeles Clippers, this season has got to go better than the last one. Not that it was all bad. Last year was when epic dunker (but habitual bricker) Blake Griffin found a midrange jump shot. But the big man's progress wasn't quite enough to erase memories of former owner Donald Sterling, and the havoc that he brought to the club right at playoff time.

But here's the good news. Sterling is gone. Griffin's jump shot is still here. And Doc Rivers was just signed to a contract extension. The rocky waters seem to be calming around Staples Arena. And then there's the fact that Chris Paul continues to lead this team.

Paul and Griffin have been dazzling Clippers ticketholders for years. But last year Los Angeles went from "Lob City" to "Win City." Rivers turned them into legitimate title contenders when he arrived from Boston. The Clippers began playing defense, and center DeAndre Jordan (like Griffin, formally only known for dunking) led the league in rebounding and field goal percentage. Jordan Crawford embraced his role as first man up, taking home the second "Sixth Man of the Year" Award of his career at the end of the 2014 season.

The Clippers were explosive last year. Paul led the league in assists per game. The team scored the most points in the league, and of course they were among the lead leaders in alley oops. Crawford seemed to assume the role of the league's most ridiculous shot-maker - a position abruptly vacated by New York's J.R. Smith last year.

But Los Angeles was beaten at its own game in the playoffs. Their matchup with the Oklahoma City was even early. The teams split the first four. OKC took the fifth game, and it appeared the Clippers would force a game seven showdown. They held a double-digit league through most of game six, until league MVP Kevin Durant decided to have his say. Durant reeled off 39 points to emphatically close out the series.

But this is a new year for LA Clipper fans. They are under new ownership. Rivers has a loaded lineup, and the Clippers are the prohibitive favorite to win the Pacific Division. Now the front office is in order, we may finally get to see the Clippers roll all the way to a NBA championship.

2013-14 L.A. Clippers ticket info

Los Angeles Clippers tickets are hotter than ever as the Clips look to make a deep run in the NBA Playoffs with some of the league’s biggest stars in the red, white and blue. The Los Angeles Clippers will go head-to-head with the archrival Los Angeles Lakers and the rest of their Pacific Division foes like the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors. The Los Angeles Clippers will also tackle all of the Western Conference’s best, as well as top teams from the East like the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers and the two-time defending champion Miami Heat. A visit to Staples Center means you’ll be at the center of the action as the Los Angeles Clippers fight to maintain their reputation as one of the NBA’s elite franchises.

The Los Angeles Clippers already boasted a wealth of talent in Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford and this summer, added the likes of Jared Dudley, J.J. Redick and Darren Collison to their talent pool. Under new head coach, Doc Rivers, the Los Angeles Clippers look to become the premier ticket L.A. and aim to take the next step in contending for a championship.

The Los Angeles Clippers captured their first division title in 2013 and qualified for postseason play for the second consecutive season after five years on the outside looking in.

The Los Angeles Clippers were founded in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, spending their first eight seasons in upstate New York before first relocating to San Diego, becoming the Clippers, for the 1978-79 season. After six seasons in San Diego, the Clippers joined the Lakers in Los Angeles in 1984. It would be seven seasons before Clippers fans would enjoy playoff action and after two postseason appearances, hard times struck again with just two berths in the next 18 seasons. But good things come to those who wait and basketball fans everywhere know that these Los Angeles Clippers are ready to become not just the biggest show in Hollywood but in all the NBA.
