2014-15 Memphis Grizzlies ticket info
The Memphis Grizzlies reload for another run at the title in 2015, behind their trio of Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, and Mike Conley. FedExForum will be rocking this year, as the Grizzlies introduce visiting teams to their hard-nosed brand of inside-out basketball.
In this era of the NBA, the traditional big man is a thing of the past - except in Memphis. In Grizzly Country, they line up Randolph and Gasol and dare teams to matchup. Both pose a laundry list of problems for defenders. No one in the league is strong enough to handle Randolph down low. No one. The veteran power forward isn't an exceptional athlete. He's simply mastered the art of sitting on the low block, rooting his man out, and making shots. His counterpart has more finesse to his game, but Gasol's size demands that he be accounted for on both the high and low posts. Teams generally aren't built to deal with that, which is why they go far in the playoffs.
Playoff basketball is different. It's half-court based, which is why the Grizzlies nearly eliminated the top seed in the playoffs last year, despite entering as an eight seed. Oklahoma City didn't know what hit them. The Grizzlies turned up the defensive pressure, and continually beat the Thunder down low. It took some late-series heroics for OKC to escape.
Look for Conley to continue to make strides this year as well. He currently resides in the second tier of NBA point guards. But the former Buckeye seems to improve each year. His decision-making and playmaking ability are what make the Grizzlies go.
This year, head coach David Joerger has some new tools to apply on the offensive side of the court. Vince Carter was signed in the offseason. The veteran swingman doesn't fly as high as he once did, but he packs a reliable jumper and scorers mentality that was missing at times last year off the bench. The franchise is also high on rookie Jordan Adams - a big multi-tool guard from UCLA.
The Grizzlies are poised for another run at the playoffs this year. Their big-ticket postmen look to lead them into another successful NBA campaign.

After consecutive first round sweeps the following two seasons, it was time for a rebuild and though the Grizzlies would be once again on the outside looking in come playoff time from 2006-2010, the last three seasons have been something special, with three more playoff appearances, culminating in a loss to the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals last season.
