Minnesota Twins ticket preview

The Minnesota Twins need to rebound from last season’s disappointing performance. They’ve got the talent to do just that, making Minnesota Twins tickets a must-have item for fans from across the baseball-crazy state of Minnesota.

Twins ticket preview

Minnesota Twins Tickets

Minnesota Twins tickets were almost impossible to find in 1991 when the team won the second of its only two World Series championships. Nowadays, however, Twins tickets are a little easier to come by. Minnesota is no longer winning World Series titles, but they’re still a decent team year-in and year-out.

Since that 1991 championship run, the Twins have only won a single playoff series despite making the postseason six times during that span.

People who buy Minnesota Twins tickets aren’t watching Kirby Puckett rack up hits and runs anymore, but they do have seats that allow them to see the next generation of Twins stars, including three-time AL batting champion Joe Mauer. Mauer is the only MLB catcher to win three or more batting titles, making him almost a living legend at this point of his career.

Mauer’s insistence on reading every piece of fan mail and responding near-religiously to requests for autographs has made him a folk hero in Minnesota as well.

There isn’t much talent around Mauer on the field for the Twins going into the 2014 season though. Mauer will move to first base full time as a precautionary move to prevent future concussions like the one he sustained last season. As the franchise cornerstone, Mauer’s longevity is an important aspect of this Minnesota team. Twins tickets will bear his likeness for the remainder of his career, and with good reason.

The Twins will play their fifth season at Target Field in 2014; the field was opened in 2010, replacing the Metrodome as the team’s former home. Target Field seats 39,021, down from 39,504 in its first three years of existence.

This season, the Twins aren’t expected to contend for the AL Central Division title, coming off a 66-96 season in 2013 and owing to a dearth of talent. With teams like the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians standing in the way, it’s unlikely that the Twins will improve much against their divisional rivals this season.

Las Vegas has the Twins pegged as 125-to-1 long shots to win the 2014 World Series, putting them in a tie with the Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs, above only the Houston Astros odds-wise.

Twins 2013 preview

Twins fans are looking forward to the healthy returns of the superstar tandem of Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau. Both missed a ton of games last season, sending the Twins to one of their worst seasons in a long time. Mauer missed 15 games, and Morneau sat out 28 with various injuries. They’ll be looking to stay in the lineup as much as possible this year, bolstering a Twins’ offense that has potential to put up a ton of runs up on the scoreboard at Target Field.

Don’t forget about slugger Josh Willingham, who is coming off a breakout season and appears to be entering his prime. Willingham blasted 35 home runs with 110 RBIs in 2012, both team-highs. If Morneau and Mauer stay healthy, look out for this team in the American League Central.

The AL Central is turning into one of the most difficult divisions in baseball. It’s topped by the Detroit Tigers, the favorites to win the World Series. There’s also the improving Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox, not to mention the upstart Kansas City Royals.

So the Twins definitely have their work cut out for them, but it appears all the pieces are in place to re-emerge as a contender in 2013. Of course, a lot depends on a re-shuffled pitching staff. Veterans Mike Pelfrey and Kevin Correia must have consistent seasons to allow the Twins’ abundance of young pitching talent to blossom. There are plenty of questions about the Twins’ staff, but the pieces are there. How quickly the staff can gel will determine how quickly the Twins contend this season.

But make no mistake about it – Twins tickets will deliver a contending baseball team. Manager Ron Gardenhire is one of baseball’s best. He knows exactly what it takes to producing a contender in Minnesota. He’s done it consistently throughout his illustrious career in Minnesota. Why should this year be any different?

It won’t be, not with the healthy return of the M & M boys. Mauer and Morneau are back, and Willingham is a legitimate MVP candidate. Twins tickets are hot once again.

Minnesota Twins Tickets – Something to Prove
The Minnesota Twins have something to prove and you can see them do it with Minnesota Twins tickets and a trip to Target Field. The post-season is the target in Minnesota as the Twins have now locked up six AL Central titles in the last decade. What eludes this powerful club is success in the MLB playoffs where Minnesota has been eliminated a dozen times. Getting over that hurdle will be sweet when it happens and Twins ticket holders think it’s going to be the 2011 MLB season that see their heroes break the mold. Will recent additions make the difference? Find out with Minnesota Twins tickets from ABCTickets.com.
Minnesota Twins Roster – Just a Little Extra
The Minnesota twins didn’t need much tweaking for the 2011 MLB season and it would have been foolish to dramatically alter a roster with proven winners. After all, the Twins are getting closer Joe Nathan back healthy, and first baseman Justin Morneau is recovered from a season ending concussion. But Minnesota has upgraded at several positions, most notably bringing in Tsuyoshi Nishioka to take over at shortstop and Alexi Casilla to assume the position at second base. Besides their prowess in the infield, this pair is expected to drastically improve the Twins’ base running. Nishioka made base stealing an art form in Japan, and hopes are high that he can do the same in Target Field.
The Minnesota twins will be featuring a lineup that should warm the hearts of Twins ticket holders. Morneau was leading the MLB in three different batting categories before his injury and he returns fully healthy. Joe Mauer finished last season hitting .327 while left fielder Delmon Young had a career season at the plate with 21 home runs and 112 RBI. It all adds up to another powerful season with Minnesota Twins tickets bringing power baseball back to their fans.
Minnesota twins Schedule – Defending the AL Central
With the Minnesota twins expected to successfully defend their AL Central title, Twins tickets to division games will be hard to come by. But you knew that. Be sure to get Twins tickets for visits by the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers, both of whom will come into Target Field trying to knock the Twins off their perch. The Boston Red Sox will also come to town, getting Twins tickets for the visit by the New York Yankees is a must. The Twins schedule also features the Texas Rangers, the Baltimore Orioles, and the LA Angels in a schedule that should keep Minnesota twins tickets at the top of the MLB most wanted list.

Minnesota Twins Baseball Tickets info

The Minnesota Twins stayed in contention for the wild card for much of last summer and though they were surpassed in the standings by the Cleveland Indians and the World Champion Chicago White Sox, they still finished with an 83 win season and showed promise for the future. Fans with Twins tickets saw Manager Ron Gardenhire make use of his talented squad as they battled through injuries and displayed the qualities that had brought them to the playoffs the previous three years. While not known to be offensively lacking, the Twins success has come in a large part from pitching and defense. Johan Santana has long been a dominating staple of Minnesota's starting rotation, and even during last year's slide he finished strong. Santana along with Brad Radke, Carlos Silva, Kyle Lohse, and Scott Baker will be returning to the Metrodome. Joe Nathan who has closed 87 games in the last two years will return to anchor a bullpen with more familiar faces including Juan Rincon, Jesse Crain, and Terry Mulholland. Helping out the pitchers in Minnesota for years has been Torii Hunter, the standout center fielder known for his spectacular defense. Hunter along with Shannon Stewart and Lew Ford will also be returning. Though the team is known for its defense, the Twins are looking for catcher Joe Mauer and first baseman Justin Morneau to both stay healthy this year and put up big numbers. Of course if Morneau is going to get more RBI he will need help from runners on the bases which is where second baseman Luis Castillo comes in. Castillo is known for his speedy base-running and will likely spark things at the top of the order. Adding a little more punch to the line-up will be Tony Batista, who joins Jason Bartlett on the left side of the infield and has the ability to put up 30 homeruns and a hundred RBI. The Minnesota Twins will be doing whatever they can to make it back to the playoffs this year and have all the tools to do it. Gardenhire has shown that he can get the most from this team and Twins tickets will be in demand as they look to re-establish themselves in the American League Central this year. It will make for exciting baseball as the Twins compete with the Indians and White Sox for the division title, and beyond
