2014 Oakland Raiders ticket preview

The Oakland Raiders have a new quarterback in former Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub, and the organization hopes he brings a new attitude to the locker room at O.co Coliseum. The Raiders traded a sixth-round draft pick to the Texans for Schaub, a two-time Pro Bowler and three-time 4,000-yard passer.

If nothing else, the Schaub trade might lure fans to buy Oakland Raiders tickets in higher amounts than they did in 2013. Last year, Oakland finished last in the NFL in attendance, bringing in 403,556 fans (50,444 per-game average, 80% capacity).

Oakland Raiders tickets shouldn’t be hard to come by for fans in 2014, but there are few bright spots on this team that would make buying Raiders tickets a worthwhile investment. Aside from Schaub, TE Mychal Rivera is a player worth watching. Last season, Rivera tied for second on the team with four receiving touchdowns. The second-year player should improve on that total with Schaub throwing to him this season.

The running game still needs work in Oakland, as it has for much of the last decade. Another injury to Darren McFadden shut him down for much of 2013, and his replacement—Rashad Jennings—is now a member of the New York Giants. 2014 is shaping up to be another long year for people who buy Raiders tickets, but sometimes being a fan is about looking for the silver lining.

The Raiders started 2013 on the right foot, going a respectable 3-4 through Week 7 including wins over the San Diego Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was mostly downhill from there, as the team went 1-8 in their final nine games of the season.

Are there things to look forward to if you’re thinking about buying Oakland Raiders tickets? There might be; they’re just harder to find. If Schaub can step in and spark the offense, who knows how many close games might fall in Oakland’s favor? Schaub has voiced his excitement at a fresh start with the Raiders organization, which is exactly the type of attitude the franchise is looking for in their starting quarterback.

If all else breaks right, maybe some of that enthusiasm rubs off on Raiders fans.

The Raiders will look to rebound in the 2011-2012 campaign with some uncertainties, including the QB position where Jason Campbell will start, but where a host of other Quarterbacks could come into the picture. Get tickets now at ABC to see what the future will bring!

The Oakland Raiders are due. A team with the motto of “Just win baby!” should really do more wining than this. Al Davis’s passion for the game can do a great deal to help this situation, but when it comes to winning games, it all starts with the players. And it appears that the Raiders finally have the players to make for a successful NFL season in 2009-2010.

JaMarcus Russell joined the Raiders in 2007 as their number one draft pick, and the young gun from LSU has spent ever since learning on the job. It hasn’t always been pretty, but he showed steady improvement throughout last season. It’s no secret that Davis likes to have a quarterback with a cannon for an arm, and Russell “passes” that criterion with flying colors. Russell has the strongest arm in the NFL, and his growing ability to read defenses makes his upside tremendous.

But of course they wouldn’t be the Raiders if there wasn’t some controversy, so Davis brought Jeff Garcia to camp, who promptly went to the media and told the world that he, not Russell, should be starting. Who wouldn’t want to buy Oakland Raiders tickets and be a part of this stuff?

But that’s not all! Oakland Raiders tickets also get fans a front row seat for head coach Tom Cable, who apparently got into a physical altercation with one of his assistant coaches in the preseason. You can’t make this stuff up!

But there is some substance behind the circus. For one, the Oakland Raiders won’t need a running back for a long time, thanks to the insane ability of Darren McFadden. McFadden has barely missed a beat in his transition from starring at the University of Arkansas to starting for the Black and Silver.

On the flip-side of the field, the Raiders sent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to the Pro Bowl last year. He leads a young defense that loves to hit. If the offense is able to do what the teams hopes it can do, the defense will be stiff enough to win quite a few games.

Oakland Raiders tickets always promise a fun time at Oakland Coliseum, but this year there may be even more in store for Raider ticket holders. This year there may just be some wins on Sunday to boot.

2008 Oakland Raiders Tickets: A Season of Promise

Let’s face it: In recent years, Oakland Raiders tickets haven’t delivered the same amount of thrills and excitement as in days past. The Raiders haven’t sniffed the NFL Playoffs since reaching the Super Bowl in 2002.
Raiders ticket holders have suffered through the return of Art Shell and the downfall of Bill Callahan. All-Pro receiver Randy Moss came and went with barely breaking a sweat. It’s definitely been a difficult run at McAfee Coliseum.

That’s about to change.

There is more buzz surrounding Oakland Raiders tickets for the 2008 NFL season than there has been in a very long time. Head coach Lane Kiffin has helped the Raiders build a solid core of talented, young players, including quarterback JaMarcus Russell and running back Darren McFadden.
Russell had a stellar college career at LSU, before becoming the overall No. 1 pick by the Raiders in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played sparingly toward the end of his rookie season and was not ultra-successful. But his natural abilities are extremely evident.
The Raiders nabbed McFadden with the fifth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. At Arkansas, McFadden shattered the school’s record book and was a Heisman trophy contender the past two seasons. A standout athlete, McFadden has the ability to run between the tackles and pull away from defenders on the outside.
Oakland Raiders tickets holders are desperately hoping that the Silver and Black’s new dynamic duo of Russell and McFadden will be the Raiders ticket back to the NFL Playoffs.
But it won’t be easy. The AFC West is one of the most difficult divisions in all of the NFL. LaDanian Tomlinson and the defending West champion San Diego Chargers won’t surrender their title easily. After lackluster seasons in Denver and Kansas City, the Broncos and Chiefs also are looking for redemption.
Coach Kiffin and the Raiders definitely have their hands full, but with Russell and McFadden leading the charge, the future is bright at the McAfee Coliseum.
Gather up Silver and Black, and meet up at the Black Hole with your 2008 Oakland Raiders tickets from ABCTickets.com.

THIS WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-13) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-13) AT NEW YORK JETS (9-6) TICKETS
1:00 p.m., Sunday
Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands

The Oakland Raiders have struggled all season long and for their last game they travel East to the Meadowlands to try and spoil the New York Jets’ playoff hopes. They can try, and in today’s NFL, it’s quite possible that they could pull out a win and end their season as the second worst team in the NFL instead of the worst. Head coach Art Shell may be playing for his job, so he’ll pull out all the stops to end the Raider’s season with a win.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: New York Jets 17, Oakland Raiders 3
(Last Week: 9-7/Season: 125-74)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: Don’t start anyone on the Raiders. Pick someone up off of the waiver wire.

Oakland Raiders tickets are part of a legendary silver and black society in southern California. A huge part of that legend is Art Shell. Shell coached the Raiders from 1989-94 and offered a presence that embodied the hard nosed take no prisoners attitude associated with the silver and black. Under Shell’s renewed guidance however, Oakland needed to find a new batch of talent to guide the team past the woes of their AFC West worst 4-12 record of last season. All sides of the ball were looked at and with limited resources, the Raider front office pulled off possibly the most respected off season rebuild in the conference.

First and foremost, the Raiders had to answer the call for a new passer under center at Network Associates Coliseum. Waiting in the wings was recently displaced specimen Aaron Brooks from New Orleans. Brooks had an abysmal campaign last year causing his departure from the Saints. Shell though, always one to see past statistics to talent, thought that Brooks brought a scrambling ability and arm strength to a team that touts such deep threat monsters as pro-bowler Randy Moss and the athletic Jerry Porter. Much of the pressure to bring in a next level QB came from the fact the team employs Moss, who throughout his career has never been one for keeping dissatisfaction about quarterback performance to himself.

An exciting player for those fans with Oakland Raiders tickets has been All Pro corner Charles Woodson. Woodson was put on injured reserve this off-season with more than one ailment possibly preventing his timely start to next season. The Raiders solved for this in the first round of the NFL Draft by taking two of the nation’s top safeties in Texas’s Michael Huff (1st pick) and an inexplicably still remaining Darnell Bing of USC in the fourth. Both players have fantastic speed and big game experience making their transition to the NFL easier and assuring the Raiders of their contributing immediately.

Oakland Raiders tickets are handed out to some of the NFL’s most die hard and extreme fans. Last season’s shortcomings seem all too minor for a squad that has the right pieces in the right places to make a march to the top tier of the American Football Conference.

THIS WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-11) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-11) VS. ST. LOUIS RAMS (5-8) TICKETS
4:15 p.m., Sunday
McAfee Coliseum

The Raiders have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. There is nothing left for them to play for except their pride. This is a team that has suffered all year long and now looks to put a little suffering on someone else. Raider QB Aaron Brooks faces off against his former coach Jim Haslett, who is now the Rams' defensive coordinator. Who will have the upper hand in this match up? We're betting on Haslett, because the Raiders have shown no spark at any point in the year. This team is in serious trouble.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: St. Louis Rams 21, Oakland Raiders 13
(Last Week: 9-7/Season: 116-67)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: There’s not much value on the Raiders. TE Randall Williams has been seeing a lot of targets lately if you need a TE off the waiver wire.

THIS PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-12) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-12) VS. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (7-7) TICKETS
8:00 p.m., Saturday
McAfee Coliseum

The Raiders have struggled all season long, and Saturday's game should be no different when Larry Johnson comes to town along with the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs. Aaron Brooks has got to show up to prove that he is next season's starting quarterback , but it's not like the Raiders have many other options. This is a team on the ropes.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs 21, Oakland Raiders 13
(Last Week: 12-4/Season: 171-78)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: QB Aaron Brooks puts up decent fantasy stats, despite his on field leadership abilities.

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-10) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-10) AT CINCINNATI BENGALS (7-5) TICKETS
1:00 pm, Sunday
Paul Brown Stadium

The Oakland Raiders may be out of the playoff hunt, but they have the opportunity to play spoiler to the Bengals this week. The Raiders travel west to Cincinnati to try and end the Bengals win streak. QB Aaron Brooks didn't have a great game last week, but nonetheless, the Raiders offense is much improved. RB Justin Fargas is filling in nicely for the injured Lamont Jordan, and even surly WR Randy Moss contributed with 4 catches last week. It won't be easy, but the Raiders have absolutely nothing to lose.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Cincinnati Bengals 38, Oakland Raiders 14
(Last Week: 11-5/Season 118-65)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: RB Justin Fargas is the only consistent fantasy producer on this struggling Oakland team.

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-9) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-9) VS. HOUSTON TEXANS (3-8) TICKETS
4:05 pm, Sunday
McAfee Coliseum

The Raiders may not be very good this year, but they have been improving since the return of QB Aaron Brooks. Brooks may not be much of a leader, but he does have a cannon for an arm, capable of making the big play that the Raiders have always loved. This week they take on the equally bad Texans in a pretty even matchup. To salvage some dignity for the sake of their always loyal fans, they need a win over Houston. They held their own against the Chargers for most of the game last week, and the Texans should prove to be an easier opponent.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Houston Texans 13, Oakland Raiders 7
(Last Week: 10-6/Season 107-60)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: QB Aaron Brooks may not be the best QB in the NFL, but he's a great fantasy starter. (Last week: RB Justin Fargas, 14 carries for 32 yards)

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-8) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-8) AT SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (8-2) TICKETS
4:05 p.m., Sunday
QUALCOMM Stadium

This week the Raiders travel down to San Diego to take on LaDanian Tomlinson and the San Diego Chargers. The good news is that the Raiders have their starting quarterback back from injury. The bad news is that he's Aaron Brooks. We shouldn't be too hard on Brooks. He certainly has a cannon for an arm, and that's what they like in Oakland. If Brooks can land a couple deep to Randy Moss before the Chargers pass rush decimates him, they just might have a chance. It's a long shot, but stranger things have happened.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: San Diego Chargers 35, Oakland Raiders 6
(Last Week: 9-7/Season 91-54)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: Let's try something different: RB Justin Fargas. (Last week: Randy Moss, 0 catches for no yards)

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-7) TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-7) AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (5-4) TICKETS
1 pm, Sunday
Arrowhead Stadium

The Raiders ship keeps taking on water, but somehow they hung around against division rival Denver last week at home. This week they won't have the comforts of home as they travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on Larry Johnson and the Chiefs. This is certainly a tough matchup for the Raiders, but by no means is it an unwinnable game. Last week, the Chiefs were shut down by Miami, who aren't much better than Oakland. Hopefully the Raiders have studied up on their game films and find the same chink in the Chiefs' armor that Miami did. And they are going to have to throw the ball to Randy Moss more in order to win. He's by far their best weapon.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Buffalo Bills 21, Houston Texans 14
(Last Week: 9-7/Season 91-54)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: There's still only one Raider barely worth your time. WR Randy Moss, despite his poor showing last week. (Last week: Moss, 1 catch for 8 yards)

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-6) VS. DENVER BRONCOS (6-2) TICKETS
4:05 p.m., Sunday
McAfee Coliseum

The Raiders have got to stop their slide into mediocrity and they have to do it soon. After being shutout in Seattle, they return home to face AFC West rivals and division leading Denver Broncos. The Raiders may be in full-on self-destruct mode, but don't count them out in this rivalry game. The Broncos-Raiders rivalry is one of the best in professional football, no matter what the teams' records are. The Broncos are riding high right now, but it can be tough to get a road win against a wounded team like the Raiders. And last week's game showed that the Raiders are trying to get back to their reputation for hitting hard and hitting often. They are looking for a fight. Why not? They've got nothing to lose at this point. Strap on your chains and spikes, grab your skulls and Darth Vader helmets, because the Black and Silver is coming home to take on the Broncos, and they'll need all the help they can get.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Denver Broncos 17, Oakland Raiders 6
(Last Week: 9-4/Season 82-47)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: WR Randy Moss is the only Raider worth starting. (Last week: Randy Moss, 6 catches for 76 yards)

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (2-5) AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (4-3) TICKETS
8:30 p.m., Monday
Qwest Field

The Oakland Raiders posted the surprise win of the week by defeating the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers to notch their second consecutive win. Is this a turnaround for Al Davis and Company? Seriously, this is the first sign of life from the Raiders since, well since forever. But the good part is their catching Seattle at a time when the defending NFC Champions are missing key elements of their team. Will it be three in a row for the Silver and Black? Probably not but it’s something to build on.
ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Seattle Seahawks 20, Oakland Raiders 17
(Last Week: 8-5/Season 73-43)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: Randy Moss (Last Week: Randy Moss – 2 catches for 20 yards .)

THIS WEEK'S SEATTLE SEAHAWKS TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (4-2) TICKETS
8:30 Monday
Qwest Field

Seattle is at a crisis point. The best they can hope for is to break even while their big guns are nursing injuries. They should be grateful they’re slated to play the Raiders this week. But it won’t be a the cakewalk a healthy Seahawks team would normally experience. They’re hurting and the Raiders have built both momentum and confidence with back to back wins. The situation on both sides makes this a much more competitive game than it would be otherwise and well worth picking up a few tickets.

ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Seattle Seahawks 20, Oakland Raiders 17
(Last Week: 8-5/Season 73-43)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: Seattle running back Maurice Morris. (Last Week: Morris - 17 carries, 49 yards.)

PAST WEEK'S OAKLAND RAIDERS TICKETS
OAKLAND RAIDERS (1-5) VS. PITTSBURGH STEEELERS (2-4) TICKETS
4:15 p.m., Sunday
Network Associates Coliseum

The Oakland Raiders got their first win last week at home against Matt Leinat and the Arizona Cardinals.  This week the Black and Silver hosts an even tougher foe in the Black and Yellow of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  But let's not kid ourselves: the defending Super Bowl champion Steelers have won just one more game than the Raiders, and the Raiders have won more recently.  So let's not hand this game to the Steelers just yet.  Randy Moss is still a gamebreaker, and the Raiders just might shock the collapsing Steelers.  The Cardinals just learned that you can't just waltz into Network Associates Coliseum, and expect a win, you have to earn it.
ABCTickets.com NFL Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers 35, Oakland Raiders 13
(Last Week: 5-8/Season 65-39)

Fantasy Football ticket to victory: It looks like Randy Moss is starting to look like the superstar he once was. (Last Week: Lamont Jordan - did not play due to a back injury.)
