Chicago Blackhawks ticket and team info

The United Center, filled to capacity with Chicago Blackhawks ticket holders, is one of the best places to see one of the Original Six franchises play some bone-crushing ice hockey.  Conveniently located on Chicago's West Side, the United Center is also home to the Chicago Bulls, and is the site of the famous statue of Michael Jordan.  Make sure you take a minute to walk around to the east side of the arena and take a gander at it before you head inside to root on the Blackhawks.

The Star
Goalie Nikolai Khabibulin will be the Chicago Blackhawks ticket to the championship, if everything goes right.  The mighty Russian goalminder known as the "Bulin Wall" is the highest-paid goalie in the NHL, and with good reason: he's one of the best in the league.  He led the Tampa Bay Lightning to a Stanley Cup Championship in 2004, and although he was injured for much of last season, he is back this year, and looking to prove his worth to the fans and the team.  He's been to the All-Star game four times in his career, and there is no doubt he will be making his fifth trip this year.

The Coach
Behind the bench, Chicago Blackhawks ticket holders are always glad to see former Blackhawks defenseman Trent Yawney at head coach.  He's popular with both the players and the fans, as well as the team management.  Even though the Blackhawks struggled last season, everyone has faith that Yawney can right the ship this year, especially now that Khabibulin is healthy in front of the net.  Don't let last year's finish fool you: Yawney showed himself graceful under fire in his first season, and has prepared his team well in order to succeed in 2006-07.

The Team
The Blackhawks almost completely reworked their offense in the off-season, adding Martin Havlat and Michal Handzus at center and winger, which should help take some pressure of defense.  Havlat is a topflight scorer and will supply Chicago with an outstanding two-way game.  The Blackhawks defense is rather young, but will surprise many teams this year as they young players like Brent Seabrook continue to develop into a solid and disciplined unit.  Don't be surprised when fans get the chance to buy Chicago Blackhawks playoff tickets this year!

The Chicago Black hawks have plans to move up in the Central Division. Chicago Blackhawks tickets are moving up right along with those plans. The Blackhawks master plan includes capitalizing on their young talent, while sprinkling veteran experience into the mix. New Black hawks GM Dale Tallon is well on his way to giving Chicago the best lineup they’ve put on the ice at the United Center in years. If you’ve been waiting for the Blackhawks to show signs of life, stop waiting and start stockpiling Chicago Blackhawks tickets for the 2005-2006 NHL season.

It’s been a long wait for Blackhawks fans. The last Stanley Cup came in 1961. The last Stanley Cup Finals was in 1992. In ’92, the Blackhawks were coming to the end of a long streak of consecutive appearances in the NHL Playoffs. Chicago had made 23 consecutive trips to the postseason. Winning 2nd place in the division with a 32-29-15 record, the Blackhawks entered the first round of the 1992 NHL Playoffs against the St, Louis Blues. After giving the Blues their exit in six games, Chicago got hot and blasted the Detroit Red Wings right out of the sky with a four-game sweep. Still rolling like a powerhouse, the Blackhawks ran off another four straight against the Edmonton Oilers to reach the Stanley Cup Finals. In the Finals however, it was the Pittsburgh Penguins who got hot, and Chicago was sent home with their tails between their legs, as the Penguins put together their own four game sweep.

Now it’s time for the Chicago Blackhawks to turn things around. The need for an overhaul was evident after the Blackhawks ended 2004 with an awful record of 20-43-11-8. Tallon got the puck rolling on the rebuilding process by signing Mathew Barnaby, Curtis Brown, and Jassen Cullimore, then added goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin, defensemen Adrian Aucoin, and forwards Jim Dowd and Martin Lapointe. Tallon also ditched head coach Brian Sutter in favor of Trent Yawney, a former Hawks player.

Chicago Blackhawks tickets have been given new life with the injection of talent and enthusiasm. Sporting a new roster and a new head coach, the Black hawks are ready to begin their charge through the Central Division. The United Center is preparing to host the hottest Blackhawks team in years, and fans are charging through the Windy City to get their hands on Chicago Blackhawks tickets.
