Georgia Bulldogs Tickets
Georgia Bulldogs Ticket preview
Georgia Bulldogs tickets are at the top of a lot of SEC football fans heading into to the 2013 season.
The Dogs boast a Heisman candidate at quarterback, a dynamic duo of young running backs and an underrated receiving corps that combine to form one of the most potent offenses in the nation. There are plenty of question marks on defense, however. But those questions will only add to the intrigue of Georgia football tickets this season.
It all starts with senior quarterback Aaron Murray, a sure-fire first-round NFL Draft pick that elected to come back for one more season in Athens. Murray passed for 3,893 yards, 36 touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a junior, very nearly leading the Bulldogs to a win over Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
Georgia came up one play short against the Crimson Tide, with the Dogs’ potential game-winning drive ending inside the Alabama 10-yard line. Murray has visions of avenging that loss this season, and he certainly has the weapons at his disposal to do so.
Georgia’s backfield is loaded. Todd Gurley rushed for 1,415 yards and 17 touchdowns last season as a freshman. He running mate Keith Marshall also had a big debut season in Athens, rushing for close to 800 yards with eight touchdowns. If those two young dynamos build off that season, the Bulldogs will be extremely dangerous this year.
But Georgia football ticket holders do have reason to be concerned about the other side of the ball, where the Bulldogs return just three starters. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will certainly have his work cut out for him, but the feeling here is that the Bulldogs will be just fine.
Georgia Bulldogs tickets have the potential to deliver another run at a national championship in 2013. It won’t be easy, though, not with an opening showdown against a very good Clemson team in addition to a rugged SEC slate.
But if Coach Mark Richt is able to guide his team through their treacherous schedule, you can bet Georgia will be in the thick of the BCS hunt. So grab your Bulldogs tickets today and make plans to spend time in beautiful Athens, GA this fall.
The University of Georgia began its football program 113 years ago in 1892. Since that time, the Bulldogs have played 1110+ games and have compiled an overall record of 688-372-54 (as of 10/23/2005).
Dr. Charles Herty was the first Georgia football coach and he led the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record in 1892. In their first contest, The Georgia Bull dogs defeated Mercer 50-0 in Athens, GA. Georgia met Auburn at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA for their second and final game of 1892. Auburn defeated Georgia 10-0 and the The "South's Oldest Rivalry" was started between the Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers.
Vince Dooley, Georgia's all time winningest coach, led the Bulldogs to the 1980 National Championship and 6 SEC Championships. Dooley coached the GU Dawgs from 1964 to 1988 and his overall record was 201-77-10.
In 2002, Mark Richt took over the head coaching position at the University of Georgia and returned the Bulldogs to national prominence. In his four seasons as Head Coach, Mark Richt has led the Dawgs to a 42-10 record, the 2002 SEC Championship and three bowl wins.
