The Dallas Stars - ticket info and information about the team.

Cowboy-up for some Dallas Stars tickets. Formerly the Minnesota North Stars, the Dallas Stars began their run in the Lone Star State in 1993. American Airlines Center is the one of many arenas whose monikers were whored out to major corporations; with seven division championships, two conference titles, a Stanley Cup and several Canadians, Dallas has proven itself a consistent competitor.

THE COACH

Former left-winger and IHL chief David Tippet made a name for himself in the IHL with the Houston Aeros, who under his guidance secured the league’s best record and earned their head coach the Turner Cup in 1999. Tippet’s tenure with Dallas began in ’92, a year which included his participation as a Canadian silver-medal recipient as a player in the Albertville Winter Olympics. Since then, he’s led his team to win the accolades mentioned above. Rumor has it that this coming season, he plans to continue a stellar career as coach while procuring a cure for cancer in his spare time.

THE STAR

The player to watch this year is the controversial Eric Lindros, a six-time All Star and winner of the 1995 Hart Trophy. Though eight concussions have left him as a risky bet for indefinite injury, his one-year contract with the Stars smack of pending retirement. However effective a playmaker and hitman, Lindros’ left wrist is susceptible to injury. This year could go either way for the Ontario native, and Tippet’s coaching ability and decision-making tilt opinions heavily in favor for a season that will see Lindros’ career end in a blaze of glory.

THE TEAM

The 2006-2007 stars are chock full of more drama than a Mexican soap opera. Heavily criticized captain and American superstar Mike Modano was recently stripped of his captain badge in favor of left-winger Brenden Morrow. The move may have cost Tippet some brownie points, but the largely ceremonial title is not likely to affect anything more than tension in the locker room. With Lindros, Modano, Finnish sniper Jere Lehtinen, and new captain Morrow in the offense, Dallas can be expected to score decisively and often. However, forehead-slapping Pee-Wee League foul-ups by Marty Turco and a lackluster defensive lineup will prove to be a challenge.

THE ARENA

The $420 million American Airlines Center opened its doors for the first time in 2001, its NHL tenants riding the coat-tails of the much more popular NBA team the Dallas Mavericks. With room for 18,000 spectators, the AA Center is easily accessible in uptown Dallas. This glistening facility is well worth the price of the Dallas Stars tickets.

Past Dallas Stars info

Dallas Stars tickets should be a big item this year for the city of Dallas. As big as their beloved state of Texas, where the locals love everything big. With some new faces coming into Dallas this year to skate at the American Airlines Arena, the 2005-06 season will definitely be a challenge for the Stars. Changing of the guard is part of life in this day and age in sports, and the Stars will be greeting a bunch of new faces this season after having a very stable lineup in Dallas for quite some time. The challenge is big, but that’s the way the fans who line up for Dallas Stars tickets like it.

This can be a very energizing scenario for a team, and the Stars need to take the changes made in the off season in that light, especially with the improvements made by much of the competition in the Western Conference. With the signing of center and team captain Mike Madano to a five-year deal to secure the rest of his playing days in the big D, the Stars are on the verge of contending for their 7th Pacific division title in the last 9 years.

Stars ticket holders are very familiar with NHL Playoff hockey and Stanley Cup Championships. In the 1998 NHL season, Dallas fans watched the rise of their Stars. They eliminated the Detroit Red Wings to six games in the Western Conference Finals. The following year with the acquisition of Brett Hull and with goalie Eddie Belfour in his second season manning the net, Stars ticket holders watched their beloved team win their first Stanley Cup, with a thrilling triple-overtime victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Looking to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, the Stars posted a 43-29-10-6 record for their fourth straight division title. They would then breeze through the first two rounds of the playoffs before meeting the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Finals. It took seven games, but the Stars went back to the Stanley Cup Finals. Unfortunately for Dallas, the New Jersey Devils ended their Stanley Cup hopes.

Dallas Stars tickets are holding a big dream. With the several free-agent signings, and Madano, Arnott, and company back for another year, along with the goaltending of young Marty Turco, NHL fans have all the reason they need to fill the seats at the American Airline arena to cheer on their beloved Stars. In fact, the rush is already on for Dallas Stars tickets.
