2014 Philadelphia Phillies Tickets

The Philadelphia Phillies are only a couple of years removed from 100 win season and a string of 90+ performances, and only three years from a run of five consecutive NL East titles. Last season’s 73 win slump is still grating on the nerves of Phillies’ fans who expect better. They should get better in the 2014 season as the Phillies have made some moves to get better. We’re not talking Yankees style expenditures but we do see some careful spending on either proven players or youngsters with some potential.

2014 Phillies on the Mound

Philadelphia has a pair of guys to put on the mound that have earned their stripes the hard way. Cliff Lee seems to be ageless. He keeps coming back year after year and there seems to be very little or no dropoff in his game. In fact, more than half of his pitches last season went for strikes. When it comes to getting ahead of a batter Lee gets the first strike on the first pitch 68% of the time, not bad for a grizzled veteran of 35. After that the Phillies turn to Cole Hamels, another veteran with a good fastball. Hamels struggled some last season but seemed to regain form late so he may bear watching but he is usually good for 12 or 14 wins. After Lee and Hamels comes a slew of youngsters and some imports. GM  Ryne Sandberg will have to find some more arms in a mixed lot. Longtime closer Jonathan Papelbon will have to fight to hold on to his job if Brad Lincoln, who came over from the Blue Jays, continues to develop.

2014 Philadelphia Phillies and the NL East

Like the Mets and the Marlins, the Philadelphia Phillies have to be seen as chasing the Washington Nationals for an NL East title. There could be some surprises but don’t expect an overwhelming offensive team in Philadelphia. The Phillies are going to be a grind it out bunch, relying on Lee and Hamels to keep opposing batters in check. After 73 wins in 2013, any improvement should net Philadelphia 80-85 wins and an outside shot at a Wild Card if the Braves or Nationals experience some setbacks.

2014 Philadelphia Phillies ticket info

12/09: Roy Halladay announced his retirement today, ending an illustrious 16 year MLB career. While this past season Halladay was injured and/or ineffective for much of the season, his tenure with the Phillies was filled with success and his spot in the rotation will be difficult to fill.  Philadelphia has remained relatively quiet this offseason, adding some small pieces such as Marlon Byrd, Wil Nieves, Kevin Frandsen, and Brad Lincoln.  With Halladay’s spot in the rotation up for grabs, it will be interesting to see if the Phillies look externally for a replacement, or promote someone from within.

10-17-2013: The Philadelphia Phillies ended the 2013 season with a 73-89 record, good for the fourth best record in the NL East behind the Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, and New York Mets.  They’ll look to get back into playoff contention next season and they’ll have a difficult test right off the bat with a three games series in Arlington, Texas as they’ll begin the season against the Rangers.  Following their opening trip to Texas, they’ll be home for ten games against the Milwaukee Brewers, Miami Marlins, and Atlanta Braves.  With ten of the first thirteen games of the season at home, the Phillies will strive to put themselves in good position the opening weeks of the season before embarking on a ten game west coast swing against three NL West opponents.

Phillies will look to rebound in 2013 after a disappointing 2012 campaign. The Phils have added several  players including Ben Revere, Michael Young, and the boisterous Delmon Young to add power and consistency. Philadelphia Phillies tickets are going fast as fans flock to Citizens Bank Park to see one of the National League’s dominant franchises. Lefty starter Cole Hamels anchors an outstanding rotation that routinely baffles opposing batters. Hamels posted a 3.05 ERA last season and finished eighth in the voting for the Cy Young Award. Buy Phillies tickets online and see the best starting pitching staff in the major leagues. It includes Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Kyle Kendrick and John Lannan.

The Philadelphia Phillies schedule is loaded with can’t-miss matchups against the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. Watch as the Phils try to get back to the top after surprisingly finishing 81-81 last season, good for third place in the National League East. That performance followed a run of five straight division titles, two trips to the World Series and one championship. The Phillies were decimated by injuries last season but are much healthier now. They’re poised to return to the pinnacle of baseball, so get your Phillies tickets now!

The Phillies are one of the proudest franchises in all of baseball, as evidenced by their 11 division titles, seven National League pennants and two World Series titles. They have played in beautiful Citizens Bank Park since 2004, regularly drawing big crowds and often sellouts. Philadelphia Phillies tickets are your chance to see a powerful lineup led by shortstop Jimmy Rollins, second baseman Chase Utley, third baseman Michael Young and slugging first baseman Ryan Howard. Outstanding catcher Carlos Ruiz will miss the first 25 games due to suspension, so expect Erik Kratz to get valuable experience filling in.

Buy Philadelphia Phillies tickets and watch as Howard reclaims his perch as the pre-eminent power hitter in baseball. Howard slammed at least 45 homers in four straight seasons and has driven in more than 100 runs six times. Pitchers don’t want to face him; they walked him over 100 times in two separate seasons. Utley is another player who inspires fierce loyalty from the fan base. Nobody plays as hard as Utley, who scored over 100 runs in four straight seasons. Get your Phillies tickets now!

The 2012 Phillies are coming off a bitter sweet season in 2011. The Phils lost in the NLDS to the red hot St. Louis Cardinals in 5 games. Not only that, they lost in a pivotal game 5 with a sold out citizen's bank park capacity crowd. In order to remedy the situation, general manager Ruben Amaro has brought in some new face and some steady old ones. One of those new ones is ace Boston Red Sox closer, Jonathan Papelbon. And one of the old faces is the likeable veteran DH/1ST basemen, Jim Thome. With Ryan Howard still with a injured achilles to start the spring and Phillies opening day, the Phils will use a combination of the young John Mayberry Jr. and Thome at first. The sweet part of 2011 was that the Phillies won over 100 games and solidified their dominance of the NL East. The other sweet part was the Phillies sold out crowds at Citizen's Bank Park and pitching. Will the Phillies be able to get back to the World Series and better yet win it? Only the baseball gods know! But it sure will be a fun ride, please take it with Phillies playoff and regular season tickets at ABC!

Philadelphia Phillies Tickets – Contending Again
Philadelphia Phillies tickets have been among the best MLB tickets in the National League in the last few seasons. Maybe that’s why the sting of a playoff loss last season hurt even more. It’s hard to fall back into the pack when you’ve been on top. As the 2011 MLB seasons heats up, the memory of that sting will push the Philadelphia Phillies to work even harder and earn a third trip to the World Series in the last four years. The Phillies have the talent to do it, especially now that Cliff Lee has returned. Get ready and get Philadelphia Phillies tickets. The return to the World Series is in the works.
Phillies Tickets – It’s the Rotation, Dummy
One of the biggest surprises of the free agent market was a big boost for the Philadelphia Phillies. Cliff Lee turned down a huge offer from the Yankees, choosing instead to return to Philadelphia, turning down millions of dollars to do so. The news of Lee’s return prompted a 20,000+ run on Phillies tickets. At this point in his career, Cliff Lee just wants to win it all. It says a lot about the Philadelphia Phillies that this is the team Lee thinks will get him back to the top. But Philadelphia was strong even before Lee re-joined the pack. Roy Haladay put up a 20-win season last year, and led the league in shutouts. Roy Oswalt also turned in a solid year, and Cole Hamels improved drastically as the season progressed. As a group, this could be the best pitching rotation in baseball. It was good enough to carry the Philadelphia Phillies deep into the MLB Playoffs last season and it should be good enough to carry the Phillies into the World Series in 2011.
Offense will be the focal point of the Phillies work this season. The return of leadoff Jimmy Rollins to full health is a big plus. Rollins missed 74 games last season with a leg injury and got special attention in the off-season. Indications in spring training are that all the hard work has paid off. Moving down the lineup we see Placido Polanco, a .300 hitter, Chase Utley, who’s been a steady performer, and Ryan Howard, a guy who has notched over 30 home runs a season for the last five years. It all bodes well for Phillies ticket holders. This team should be preparing for a World Series in the fall.
Philadelphia Phillies Tickets – No Bad Picks
The Philadelphia Phillies are contenders and everyone knows it. Every team visiting Citizens Bank Park will be bringing their best game. They’ll have to if they want to have a shot. The calibers of play by the Phillies, and the return of Cliff Lee, have catapulted the demand for Phillies tickets. Phillies tickets will give the Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, and New York Mets in NL East action. You can also catch the Phillies take on the Rockies, Rangers, Red Sox, and Cubs, just to mention a few. Don’t worry about sellouts; ABCTickets.com will have all the Phillies tickets you want when the time comes.

2010 was a year that saw the Phillies lose the NLCS to the San Francisco Giants and a season riddled with injuries to Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Placido Polanco. Although tough for fans with no World Series victory for the Fightin Phils, as their affectionately known, there was an NLCS appearance and some great pitching from the newly acquired Roy Oswalt.

STARS OF PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES TICKETS
1B Ryan Howard: Possibly the most feared hitter in all of baseball, Howard clubbed 48 home runs in 2008, with 146 RBI and an incredible .543 slugging percentage in 2008.
His reward was a fat new contract. But think Howard will get comfortable. This is a young, motivated player, who played in all 162 games for the Phillies last season.

OF Shane Victorino: A native of Hawaii, Victorino is the spark that makes the Philadelphia offense go. He’s like a gnat that keeps pecking away and irritating opponents.

OF Chase Utley: Out of nowhere, Utley have developed into a superstar and a favn favorite of Philadelphia fans with Phillies tickets. Utley seemingly lives on base, as his .380 on-base percentage shows.

P Cole Hamels: The big left-hander put together an October to remember, leading to the Phillies through the National League Playoffs and capping it off with a stellar performance in the World Series.

Citizens Bank Park Seats: Philadelphia Phillies Tickets
One of baseball’s best venues, Citizens Bank Park sits in the heart of South Philadelphia. The smells of cheesesteaks and hot dogs can be detected from miles away.

3 Reasons to Buy Philadelphia Phillies Tickets

Despite the collapse of last year’s season it seems that the Phillies might be driving it home in 2007. With a new coaching staff, a few new players in the lineup, and a rowdy but supportive fan base, this season is sure to be one to fight over Phillies tickets for.

Although the Phillies fans might not be thrilled about general manager Charlie Manuel staying on board for the 2007 season, they will have some new hope from the newly acquired coaching staff that’s been hired. Davey Lopes is taking up the first base coach position with Steve Smith coaching on third, and Jimy Williams as bench coach. All experienced coaches, they should bring some new perspective to The Phightin’ Phils and give Phillies ticket holders a season to look forward to.

Not only has the outfit brought on a new coaching staff, but they’ve also added some new blood to the roster. This new lineup includes pitcher Freddy Garcia from the White Sox who is sure to throw a few curve balls for the team, as well as Adam Eaton and West Helms who will deepen the bench.

Fans of the The Phils are known for their unruly conduct, and are willing to literally put up a fight for their team. There is no question that they have the home field advantage when they’re in town, as many of the celebrity fans that attend The Phils’ games can attest to. Some of the celebrity’s known for being Phillies ticket owners are Art Garfunkel, Kevin Bacon, Tim McGraw, and Will Smith.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game with Citizens Bank Park Tickets

The almost brand new Citizens Bank Park will knock you out of your seat. Don’t be led astray by the fresh feel of the park, it’s got plenty of history built in. Ashburn Alley is one of the main appeals of the park which runs the outfield and holds such things as the All-Star Walk, Phillies Wall of Fame, and Rooftop Bleachers.

You’ll Want Phillies Tickets for these Big Match-Up’s

Grab your tickets when the Phillies play the New York Mets April 16th and 17th. Also make sure to snatch up your Phillies tickets for the game vs. their cross-town rivals the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 27-29th.

There’s a noticeable trend in Major League Baseball when discussing a team’s prospects for the season; almost everybody needs pitching. Even teams regarded as strong in that area aren’t satisfied (see White Sox GM Ken Williams). The Phillies have pitching questions and they seem to be relying on a number of cards to fall their way. A dangerous strategy, to be sure and one that fans buying Philadelphia Phillies Tickets may not appreciate if their heroes don’t win the East Division. The Citizens Bank Park faithful look toward GM Pat Gillick to orchestrate moves that promise good things this summer.

Manager Charlie Manuel knows the Atlanta Braves can be overtaken this year. A two-game deficit is not difficult to overcome as long as you’re the one improving. GM Gillick pulled off a major trade sending Jim Thome to the White Sox for Aaron Rowand. The former Palehose center fielder brings some impressive leather with him but an inconsistent bat and a penchant to look foolish when served a diet of sliders. Regardless, Rowand takes over for Kenny Lofton in center.

The rest of the line-up is formidable, featuring axsmen like Bobby Abreu, Pat Burrel, and Ryan Howard. The Phils are golden at the “Keystone” with Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley holding down the fort splendidly. Rollins will be a media darling right out of the gate this season as he is currently enjoying a 36 game hitting streak, rolling over from the end of 2005.

Back to the pitching, Brett Myers, Corey Lidle and Jon Leiber are adequate to good but then the outlook becomes murky. Can Ryan Franklin and Ryan Madson propel the staff to the post season? Can Tom “Flash” Gordon replace ace close Billy Wagner? Veteran Arthur Rhodes was brought in to help solidify the shaky bullpen. The addition of Rhodes not only provides a veteran set up man but it also allows Ryan Madson to move from pen to rotation. Questionable pitching staffs seldom carry teams to division titles and this one will require Philadelphia Phillies season tickets holders to keep fingers and toes crossed. Sweet cream pennant dreams built on hope melt in the hot August sun. If the Phils are close, Gillick will pull the trigger to bring is reinforcements.

Phillies fans are demanding, as well they should be. Given the money, time and emotional investment they expend, Philadelphia Phillies Ticket buyers want Citizens Bank Park to host at least a playoff game. With the Mets spending mass quantities, it’s up to Pat Gillick to keep pace while figuring a way to overtake the front running Braves.
