New York Rangers Tickets

2014-15 New York Rangers ticket preview

Fresh off an appearance in the 2014 Stanley Cup Final, the New York Rangers are the toast of New York, and with good reason. After all, New York Rangers tickets emblazoned with pictures of the Cup are still proudly being displayed by fans who saw their team take on a heavily favored Los Angeles Kings team in the NHL’s final series of the season.

For the first time in 20 years, Rangers tickets were the toughest tickets in town. Prices on the secondary market for Games 3 and 4 of the Cup Final were going for thousands of dollars as New York City braced for the collision of hockey’s two best teams at Madison Square Garden.

And even though New York didn’t come out on top, their fans will still buy Rangers tickets this season with the fervor you’d expect from some of the most devoted fans in all of sport. Heading into this season, New York still has Henrik Lundqvist in goal, Ryan McDonagh on the blue line, and speedster Carl Hagelin on the wing. They still have one of the most passionate fan bases in the entire league. And they’re still the defending Eastern Conference champions.

Madison Square Garden seats are all new and waiting for Rangers fans to fill them again this year. The Garden underwent the final stages of its $1 billion renovation last season and is noticeably more state-of-the-art than it was prior to 2009, when the remodeling began. Rangers fans are sure to notice the glass-enclosed hallways through which their favorite players walk en route to the ice; the brand new Sky Bridges hanging from the rafters, allowing a bird’s eye view of the ice surface; and the better sightlines from even the last row of the upper bowl.

An all-new Garden is reason enough for fans to buy Rangers tickets for the 2014-15 season, but the on-ice product is what will bring them back time and time again. The allure of another Stanley Cup Final appearance won’t hurt attendance figures either, especially if Lundqvist, McDonagh, and Hagelin live up to expectations in the city that never sleeps.

New York Rangers ticket preview

In the city that never sleeps, the New York Rangers are the team that never lacks media hype.

During an offseason in which it fired its head coach and engaged in a contract dispute with one of its most popular players, New York once again proved its ability to remain in the spotlight even when no hockey games were being played.

The Rangers weren’t only making headlines for personnel moves, though. Despite playing in a city with one of the country’s highest costs of living, the Rangers were actually one of nine NHL teams whose average ticket prices declined from what they were at the start of the 2012-13 season.

The average price of a New York Rangers ticket on the secondary market decreased by 6.27% from last year’s cost, which isn’t a huge difference, but notable because the market saw very few decreases in NHL ticket prices at all. Prior to the 2013-14 NHL season, Madison Square Garden tickets were selling at an average cost of $232.93, down from $248.51 a year ago.

Compare that to the cross-town New York Islanders, where seats at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum increased 102% year-over-year.

Rangers fans will be paying slightly less to see their team play this season, which is something very few fan bases can claim. In addition to marginally lower ticket prices, the Broadway Blueshirts have on-ice bragging rights in the form of Vezina Trophy-winning goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Lundqvist will keep the Rangers in nearly every game, as evidenced by his 24-16-3 regular-season record last season during which he posted a 2.05 GAA and .26SV%. He’s in a contract year in 2013-14, meaning he’ll probably have some added motivation to perform.

Good news for the Rangers, but bad news for every other team.

New York will face a Metropolitan Division with only one true threat to challenge them for the division title: the Pittsburgh Penguins. The rest of the teams in the division are solid, but not yet ready to assert their dominance over the Rangers and Penguins.

A new season means another chance for the Rangers to make the back page of the New York papers, which is exactly what they’re best at.

New York Rangers tickets are your only chance to see exciting National Hockey League action at one of the greatest venues in sports history — Madison Square Garden.

Four Stanley Cup championship banners hang from the rafters of Madison Square Garden, where legends such as Rod Gilbert, Brian Leetch, Jean Ratelle, Andy Bathgate and Mark Messier have led the New York Rangers to a remarkable 54 appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in their illustrious history.

The New York Rangers are poised to make a run at their seventh appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the past eight seasons, but they have no intention of stopping there. The New York Rangers are on a mission this season after falling in the Eastern Conference finals in 2012, and this scrappy team is more motivated than ever to claim the team's fifth Stanley Cup title.

Coach John Tortorella's team is one of the toughest defensive squads in the National Hockey League, thanks in large part to three-time NHL All-Star goalie Henrik Lundqvist. The New York Rangers also have plenty of offensive firepower with five-time NHL All-Star and former No. 1 overall draft pick Rick Nash manning the left wing and three-time all-star Marian Gaborik at the right wing.

Buy your New York Rangers tickets online and come see this exciting team take on the National Hockey League's best, including matchups with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, and Florida Panthers, as well as Atlantic Division rivals like the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Philadelphia Flyers and the New Jersey Devils.
