2014-15 Dallas Mavericks ticket preview

The Dallas Mavericks look to make another run at the playoffs, with perennial All-Star Dirk Nowitzki and the addition of free agent Chandler Parsons. American Airlines Center will be flying high when these talented big men share the court this season.

Most expected Parsons to resign with Houston last year. But the Rockets made a huge play for Chris Bosh - a player with a very similar skill set to Chandlers. Seeing the writing on the wall, the talented forward went up the road and found a new home. The signing, while unexpected, makes sense from both sides. Parsons will have the opportunity to intern under the best stretch-four in the history of the league, while his presence allows Dallas to offer more rest for Nowitzki.

Ever since their title on 2011, the Mav's have taken the approach of rearranging chairs around Nowitzki, the their all-world forward. The supporting cast is usually a mixed bag of veterans and up-and-comers. The formula is no different this year. Richard Jefferson and Tyson Chandler are in. Vince Carter is out. Raymond Felton and Jameer Nelson will compete for point guard time with Devin Harris. Monta Ellis returns as Nowitzki's most reliable second option over the past couple years.

Coach Rick Carlisle's teams are generally known for their sticky defensive principles, but the Mavericks were one of the most efficient offensive teams in the league last season. He's hoping to up the ante eve more. Transition basketball is the new hot term in Dallas, and Mavericks tickets will come with a little more firepower accordingly. Look for them to run at every opportunity.

The Mavericks have the pieces to make a splash in the west this year. Despite losing in the first round to the Spurs, the Mavericks showed something in the playoffs. Their series against San Antonio was probably the most competitive series the Spurs endured on their way to the title.

Look for Parsons and Nowitzki to gel quickly, and lead the Mavericks even further in 2015, as they make another run at the NBA championship.
