Cleveland Cavaliers preview

2014-2015 Cavs ticket info

Cleveland Cavaliers tickets will simply not last as The King has returned home, looking to lead his hometown franchise to NBA championship glory. The Cleveland Cavaliers schedule is jam packed with their biggest rivals from across the league, including a visit from the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, as well as tilts with the division rival Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks. Cleveland Cavaliers tickets also put you front and center to catch the biggest stars from all the top teams, including the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors. A visit to the Quicken Loans Arena means you’ll have a prime spot as the Cleveland Cavaliers aim to take a huge leap this season, from playoff onlookers to championship contenders.

LeBron James played the first seven seasons of his NBA career in Cleveland before taking his talents to South Beach as a member of the Heat, where he was a part of two NBA championship teams and appeared in the NBA Finals three times in four seasons. Returning to Cleveland as a two-time NBA champion, four-time league MVP, two-time NBA Finals MBP and a 10-time All-Star, James has an elite supporting cast in a suddenly-revamped Cavs lineup that should dominate the Eastern Conference. Point guard Kyrie Irving has already established himself as an All-Star and longtime Cavalier Anderson Varejao hopes to rekindle some old chemistry with the returning King James. Also new to Cleveland are power forward Kevin Love, acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves and a pair of James’ former Heat teammates in forwards James Jones and Mike Miller.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were founded in 1970 and have amassed three division titles in team history. After missing the postseason in all four of their seasons without LeBron, the Cavs are almost a sure bet to return to the NBA Playoffs this year as league pundits were quick to anoint the Cavaliers as favorites in the Eastern Conference.

2014 Cavs ticket info

Once LeBron James announced his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in favor of joining the Miami Heat in a much-maligned, made-for-TV special, the demand for Cavaliers tickets dropped faster than any other NBA team’s at the time. Without the consensus best player in the league, Cleveland Cavaliers tickets almost weren’t worth the paper they were printed on.

That may well change this season, as current Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is generating some buzz around the NBA as one of the league’s best young players. And heading into his third professional season, he may finally be reaching his full potential.

That’s a scary thoughts for Central Division opponents, but a welcome one for a franchise trying to sell Cavaliers tickets like it once did when James was in town as a member of the home team.

Irving leads a roster full of twenty-somethings with much to prove in the 2013-14 NBA season. Cleveland could be one of the league’s surprise teams this year if Irving truly takes the reins and gets strong seasons from his supporting cast.

The similarities between the Cavs of James’s era and today’s roster are readily apparent; not much has changed since James left town, as Irving is the lone star in Cleveland’s lineup. Much like how James carried the day when he was wearing a Cavs uniform, it will be on Irving’s shoulders to lead Cleveland to victory this season.

The good news for fans with Cavaliers tickets is that the third year in the NBA is when emerging stars generally have their breakout seasons. There’s no doubt that Cavs fans are hoping that holds true for Irving. And while some hometown fans are holding out hope that James has a change of heart and signs with Cleveland in the summer of 2014 as a free agent, this is Irving’s team at the moment.

Quicken Loans Arena seats won’t be in short supply this year, as the Cavs are still rebuilding from James’s “Decision.” However, there’s some reason to think that Cavs tickets may be in higher demand if Irving can prove he was worthy of being drafted no. 1 overall in 2011.
