Orlando Magic Tickets – Taking a New Path

Amway Center seats 18,846 for Orlando Magic home games, and Magic tickets weren’t exactly prized commodities last season. The team went 23-59 en route to a 13th-place finish in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. So, do the math: many of those 18,846 seats will be empty this coming season, especially with a playoff berth being an unlikelihood for a young team lacking any true superstar players. With that in mind, there are still a few reasons to buy Orlando Magic tickets this year…

It’s Victor Oladipo’s show

The second-year player out of Indiana University will unquestionably be given the reigns of the team this season. Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game, very respectable numbers for a rookie guard. He’ll be expected to step up in a big way this season now that Aaron Afflalo (and his 18.2 points per game) has left the team via free agency. Oladipo has the quickness and defensive prowess to keep opposing players from getting past him to the basket, but his offensive game will need to grow to match his defensive ability.

Evan Fournier may surprise you

Fournier spent the summer leading France to the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup, making a name for himself on the international stage in the process. He only averaged 8.4 points per game as a member of the Denver Nuggets last year, but that average is skewed since he was playing less than 20 minutes per game. His explosion onto the scene during the World Cup tournament opened the eyes of the Magic front office; fans are hoping some of that international success translates into NBA success this year.

Orlando Magic tickets are cheap

Last year, the Magic had an average ticket price of $41.18, the 11th cheapest such price in the NBA. Without leading scorer Afflalo in town this year, the fans who hung onto their tickets even after Dwight Howard left the team will probably reconsider purchasing them for what’s expected to be a down year for the club. With plenty of extra tickets hitting the market, expect the average price of Magic tickets to decline even further.

2014 Orlando Magic ticket info

Orlando Magic tickets embark on a new era in the 2013-14 NBA season after the loss of Dwight Howard. Somehow the Magic will have to find someone that can fill that role. But there still remains the nucleus of a solid NBA team, one fully capable of competing in the Southeast division and competing for an NBA playoff spot. But some adjustments will be necessary. Orlando will have to find or develop some shooting prowess and there are some defensive improvements in the cards if they want to stay on the winning track. Orlando Magic tickets have some challenges ahead but all the pieces are there for a great season in the Amway Center.

With only 20 wins in 2013 there’s an obvious need for improvement in Orlando. Head Coach Jacque Vaughn has the pedigree to get the job done, learning his craft under a slew of winning NBA coaches as an assistant. Vaughn is taking a long term view of the project and his strongest trait is his belief in himself and his ability to get the best from his players. With Miami is his division and some gaps in his roster, Vaughn is in for a challenge in the upcoming season.

Magic ticket holders will be watching Jameer Nelson, a former All-Star pick, run an offense that can be potent when everything is clicking. Nelson set several career highs in the 2012-13 season and looks to be on the upswing. Rookie Maurice Harkless is another player who could make an impact in the new season. Harkless had a good rookie campaign, averaging over 8 points per game in limited playing time and his defensive prowess is notable with his ability to garner steals and block shots. Hopefully Magic ticket holders will get to see the return of Glen Davis, who is still recovering from injury but showed promise when he was healthy. Of course the big question is who mans the center. The most likely candidate is Nikola Vucevic, who has become a big part of the Orlando attack. Vucevic is young and still developing but he’s shown flashes of real talent.

Orlando Magic tickets will get you in to see a young and developing team with real potential in the future. There will be some rough spots along the way but Jacques Vaughn has this team moving in the right direction. The Amway Center is going to get some top notch NBA action in 2013-14 and Orlando Magic tickets are the best way to get in on the excitement of the coming NBA season.
