Portland Trail Blazers Tickets

The City of Roses is in love with its team again. Point guard Damian Lillard has reignited a franchise that fell on hard times of late. Portland is coming off their first playoff series win since 2000, and expectations are even higher this season. The Moda Center is going to be the hottest ticket in the West, as Lillard and company launch another run at an NBA championship.

From the moment Lillard showed up in Portland, it was clear things would be different. The unheralded point guard from Weber State, immediately staked his claim as the best in his 2013 rookie class. He ran away with the Rookie of the Year award that season and returned last year with even more to prove. Lillard and All-Star center LaMarcus Aldridge launched Portland to an impressive start in 2012, going 13-2 in the month of November.

They held on to claim the fifth seed in the playoffs. A tough matchup with four seed Houston awaited, and the series lived up to expectations. The teams pushed each other to six games, three of which were decided in overtime. Aldridge was particularly salty on the road early in the series, posting 46 points in game one, and 43 in game two. The Rockets pushed the series to game six, and nearly a game seven. But with 0.9 seconds left, Lillard drilled a series-winning three-pointer in one of the most memorable moments of the 2014 postseason.

Unfortunately their electrifying win against the Rockets bought the Trail Blazers a one-way ticket to a San Antonio beat down. Portland was dominated by the Spurs. But more importantly, they learned from the best about what it takes to get to the next level.

Coach Terry Stotts has some new tools as his disposal. Guard Steve Blake will serve as a capable backup to Lillard, and Chris Kaman was signed to backup Aldridge. Both provide much-needed depth for a team that has one of the least productive benches in the league. That bench was made thinner with the departure of Mo Williams.

But bench or no bench, this year Lillard and Aldridge return for something more. And they’re taking all Trail Blazer ticket-holders with them on a run for the NBA title.
